The city of Bend has been incorporated since 1908 with the start of about 500 people. Bend started off as a logging town. When I was growing up as a young kid in the '90s, this was a quiet little countryside town. Jake's truck stop was a GIANT truck stop located on the south side of bend. Downtown bend started off with one main street. The mountain view mall was our indoor/outdoor outlet mall that and the tower theatre was the first theatre this town had ever known. I remember as a child the town was so bare compared to what it is today. Most places that there are shopping centers and housing developements, used to be nothing but deep woods and dirt forestry roads.

It wasn't until the early 2000's that this town started to boom into what it is today. I remember hearing before trump had become president and he was just a businessman, that he had named this town the number 1 place to settle and go sight seeing to. It seemed like after that it became a huge tourist attraction, and a lot of people started moving here very quickly from many other states and Bend, Oregon began to grow at a very rapid rate. With the 2025 census claiming that now, Bend is home to 107,812 residents, you can tell this town has grown into a bustling business town. To this day, places like the pilot butte, Mt. Bachelor, Downtown bend and it's events, continue to be iconic highlights that continue to bring this town the attention that is keeping it growing at a fast rate.
